10 Ways to Remain Connected During Retirement

10 Ways to Remain Connected During Retirement By Cynthia Barnett golfer.jpg

One of your biggest fears of retirement may not be giving up the hustle and bustle of the working world but remaining socially connected. After all, with your coworkers, you have likely made some close personal friendships. You likely treasure them and consider them as closer (if not closer) than your family members and other friends outside the work force.

Well, we’re here to tell you that you don’t need to feel this way. You can still maintain these friendships and develop new friendships as well. You can stay socially connected during retirement and don’t have to alienate yourself. To do so, you simply have to be willing to put forth the effort. In this article, we’ll discuss 10 proven ways to stay connected during retirement.

        • Stay in touch with ex-colleagues – There’s no getting around it, your coworkers are important to you and therefore you should stay connected to them. Make sure that you contact them by phone or meet your friends for lunch dates. Not only will this keep your connection strong but it will also ensure that you remain up to date on past work happenings and keep your friends from work.

        • Create meaningful relationships – Besides ex colleagues, now is the time to create new meaningful relationships. To do this, you should connect with family, friends and neighbors too. Perhaps you can engage in after-retirement activities that will enable you to improve these relationships.

        • Foster relationship with your spouse – Now that you’re retired, you should have more time to spend with your spouse. Take some time to get romantic with them. See if the two of you can re-spark a flame or perhaps develop mutual interests.

        • Build a strong social network – This can be accomplished by volunteering at your favorite non profit organization, enrolling in a class, or joining a group.

        • Join clubs – You can connect with like-minded people by joining a club or a social group. Just make sure that it is an actitivy that you would enjoy and will get excited about.

        • Participate in community service – You can remain connected to people of various dimensions by assisting with some community service projects. For instance, perhaps you can arrange to clean up the parks on Earth Day or participate in the Why Me Cancer Walk.

        • Participate in volunteer work – Join a worthy cause to be in touch with people. Try to help the deprived and lesser privileged. Alternatively, you can spread awareness about the burning issues that concern people around you. It will be an enriching experience for you too.

        • Explore a hobby – In exploring this hobby, join a group of people who also have this interest such as a knitting club or ski club. This will increase your interaction with people with similar interests.

        • Re-educate yourself – Participate in classes that you can learn something new with other people. Make sure that you keep a positive and friendly attitude and you’ll meet new people all the time.

        • Connect with family– This is a wonderful way to remain connected with your children, and your grand children, with whom you may not have fostered a close relationship during your working life. You can’t start any sooner, so cease the moment right now and you’ll be happy that you took the time.

In conclusion, you can remain connected during retirement. You simply have to be willing to connect with family, re-educate yourself, join a hobby, participate in community service activities, volunteer, join clubs, build a new network, stay in touch with ex-colleagues, foster relationships with your spouse, connect with family, and create meaningful relationships.

Retirement Living- When is the right time to move?

from Lea Jensen’s real estate website.

Many seniors visit retirement homes and agree the lifestyle would be suitable for their needs, but upon returning home, the decision can sometimes be confusing, stressful and a little overwhelming.

I have first hand experience with helping seniors make a decision as to whether ’now’ is the right time to take the next the step to a retirement home, and in some cases nursing homes. My mom is a senior and I have helped her thru these difficult decisions over the last few years.

I have also completed the “Royal LePage Real Estate Planning Designation”. This designation allows me to help seniors make an informed decision about their future. The whole transition to a retirement home or nursing home becomes a very pleasant and exciting experience. I can help make your plans for retirement living in Mississuga easier.

How much paint do you need to buy when painting a room?

Use the following formula to estimate the amount of wall paint you need. Double the result if the walls require two coats.

                          1. Add together the length of each wall.

                          2. Multiply the sum by the wall height, to find the total wall area.

                          3. Subtract 20 square feet for each door and 15 square feet for each window to find the actual amount of wall area you’re painting.

                          4. Divide this figure by the paint coverage (350 square feet per gallon), and the result is the number of gallons to purchase.

                                            Chiropractic Software Program Comparisons

Chiropractic Software Program Comparisons by Thomas Morva

                                            chiropractic software image

It is important to choose a software program based on what it can offer your practice, and not solely on cost. It is understandable that most new chiropractors come out of school with a lot of debt and want to get started for as little money as possible. Scrimping on something as important as your office software could cause you big headaches and even more money in the long run. If you have to upgrade to a better program, not only will you have to contract workers to perform the upgrade, your office staff will not be able to access your records for a period of time until the upgrade process is effective. These are thoughts to consider when reviewing your software options. Chiropractic software comparison is a necessary evil when finding your perfect software match.

Weeding through the various types of programs available can be exhausting. Some programs offer insurance billing specifically, while others focus on only patient records. Prepare to spend several hours in reviewing your options and be sure to speak with your office staff about their needs. Since the staff will be the ones using the programs, it is absolutely imperative that their input is considered. The Internet is a good search tool when looking for chiropractic software comparisons.

One of the most utilized programs today is Eclipse® Practice Management Software. This company has been providing office solutions for over 20 years and has one of the most comprehensive office management software packages in the industry. According to their website, “ECLIPSE includes billing, scheduling, EHR (electronic health record), daily notes, an extensive alerts system, certified HIPAA compliant electronic claims & remittance, security features that include patient data access tracking to help you run a HIPAA compliant facility, and myriad reports fine-tuned by two decades of client feedback”. Eclipse also boasts of the software’s abilities to streamline your office records and create a virtually paperless office.

Another popular chiropractic software program is Lytec®. Founded in 1989, this company is well-known as a leader in helping chiropractic offices streamline their records and superior customer support. Lytec specializes in the efficiency of patient billing, insurance filing and appointment setting. Included in their software package is a patented program called Code Import which loads CPT-4, ICD-9 and HCPCS directly into the Lytec software to greatly reduce coding errors. Another interesting feature of the Lytec software program is the Fee Schedule Import feature. This feature “automatically loads Medicare fee schedules into Lytec saving time and improving accuracy.”

ChiroSoft® is a software program designed especially for today’s chiropractic offices. It was first launched in 1982 and has had over 20 years experience in fine-tuning the software for the busy chiropractor. One of the most recognized and appreciated features of this program in the fee slip feature. According to their website, “A fee slip is printed on each patient before they see the doctor, this allows for easy communication between the front desk and the chiropractor. The front desk must post services into ChiroSoft® to cancel out that daily fee slip. This prevents billable services from being missed by the office staff.” Many chiropractors find this feature very valuable and recommend it to others.

Chiropractic Complete Max Pro® is another widely used software program for chiropractic offices. The tagline for this company is: save time, improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase productivity, and maximize profits. This product seems to offer a variety of necessary tools to maximize the performance of the chiropractic office. It offers flexible appointment scheduling, automated payment plans, statistical reports, the ability to bundle procedure codes that are used daily for quick reference, Multiple case management without creating double patient accounts, mailing list creation, electronic patient records, front desk management, and marketing tools. This is a bundled program that seems to offer nearly any tool that a chiropractor needs.

Finding the appropriate software for your practice can be very time consuming. When you first begin your search, it is likely that you will be overwhelmed with choices. Remember to consult with your office staff to determine what their needs may be. That is a good starting point in deciding which programs to purchase. Getting the right software in the beginning can save a lot of trouble in the future. If you have to change programs, you will have some lag-time where you will not be able to access your records. Finding a good vendor who understands your needs and who will offer excellent customer support is also a very important step. It may take some time, but with all of the products available on the market today, with a little research and thought, you will find the product you need to make your business successful.

Health:Tinnitus: Learning How to Solve the Puzzle

Tinnitus: Learning How to Solve the Puzzle by Mark Goeder-Tarant There are 2 important milestones you need to try to identify. Like any other puzzle you are trying to solve, you start at the beginning.

The first step is trying to remember when you first started hearing whistling or buzzing sounds that shouldn’t really be there. Was this in any way connected to an acoustic disturbance from the outside i.e.: an explosion or loud bang which left a ringing sensation in your ears?

If this isn’t the case then the primary element will be trying to determine the point in time where the noises you were hearing began to be a nuisance and started affecting your ability to concentrate.

This procedure can take months, if not years, until you start to acknowledge and finally conceive that you have tinnitus. I have to admit my ignorance in this matter, but I had never even heard of the word “tinnitus” until I was diagnosed with it.

I have heard of cases and even met people that waited in excess of 10 years before seeking medical help. This is important to comprehend. Tinnitus is a phenomenon. It doesn’t just burst into existence, tap you on the shoulder and kindly introduce itself.

“BOO!!…. made you jump huh?…….yep that’s me…I’m Tinnitus and I’m going to mess around with you for a while”

This is the strange thing about it. According to questionnaires, most people aren’t aware of when they actually started to take notice of their tinnitus. They can’t remember the day they acknowledged its existence or even the time when it started to influence their everyday lives.

If you want to hear a sample of my own Tinnitus go to my homepage and click start on the embedded player.

To a healthy person, this sound is uncomfortable, if not absolutely annoying, and normally ceases a few hours after visiting a loud pop concert or hearing a loud explosion. At the most one day, but nonetheless, it IS a very unpleasant sound to most of us.

Imagine being lumbered with this sound permanently, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. Eventually something somewhere has to snap if it goes untreated. You don’t have to be a doctor to apprehend this.

The sound you heard matches my own tinnitus. I created this audio using synthesizer software, which I finely tuned until I found the right frequency which is more or less identical to the sound that fills my head.

However, there are more definitions of tinnitus sounds:

The most common noises include a sound of crickets or roaring, buzzing, hissing, whistling, and high-pitched ringing. Some other types of tinnitus include a clicking or pulsatile tinnitus (meaning it’s consistent with your heartbeat)

Being able to hear this sound as an audio play back won’t help you much, but it may help you to explain to others what you have to endure……..day in….and day out.

It is vital to understand the nature of tinnitus and how it gradually makes itself present.

I, myself, noticed the tinnitus about 5 years ago. After about a year it bothered me enough to take the case to my doctor who referred me to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. After a thorough hearing test, I was told I had a slight loss of hearing in both ears and should undergo a CAT Scan to make sure there wasn’t a tumor growing somewhere in my head.

Thank God the results were negative and I was given a clean bill of health. Nice to know, huh?

Basically that was it. I was informed that everything was okay and the doctor requested I come back in a year or two for another hearing check. To be honest, I forgot the matter entirely and carried on with my life in all its routine. I mean, didn’t the doctor say I was okay?

The noise was still present but it wasn’t affecting my life in a negative way or anything. The readiness on my part to accept the doctor’s words and carry on with my life would soon prove to be my primary and biggest mistake.

                                                  IMPORTANT - ACT NOW!

As soon as you notice high pitched frequency or ringing noises….act! This is your starting gun. The minute these noises become persistent, get medical help. Don’t believe and don’t trust anyone that insists you can live with these noises and not to worry. If your doctor tells you this, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!

The body is a fine tuned instrument. Like every other symptom, with tinnitus, your body reacts and takes counter measures to protect itself. In fact tinnitus sounds can be compared with pain. You are being told that something is wrong. A toothache will send you to the dentist, a backache will send you to chiropractic, and constant headaches will eventually send you to a neurologist. In all cases though, you are being warned!

In the case of tinnitus, you are also being warned. It’s a warning signal and should be taken very seriously. 95 % of tinnitus patients will probably act the same way as I did and wait too long before consulting a doctor. If you haven’t acted already don’t make the same mistake most of us do. Get moving!!

So why is all this so important now that you have been diagnosed with tinnitus? Isn’t too late to be told that you missed all the warning signals?

Understanding the reason you are suffering from tinnitus is the key to understanding its existence and the ability to learn from it. Understanding WHY YOU have tinnitus is the very first step and the backbone of self-treatment. You have to be willing to learn.

IMPORTANT - YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO LEARN

Compare tinnitus treatment with a simple toy called the “Rubik’s Cube.” I don’t know anyone who can solve the puzzle in less than 30 minutes. Most people will twist, turn and rotate the cube until they eventually realize that it’s not possible to solve unless you know the trick. Well it’s not so much a trick as a pattern. Anyone can solve the Cube once they’ve learned how to. It’s just a matter of practice and patience.

Coming to terms with tinnitus involves learning and getting the known facts into perspective. No more twisting and turning and going down one way roads. You have to stay focused on what you want to achieve.

That’s what my book is all about.

If you are suffering from chronic tinnitus (with or without hearing loss) you have probably been down every one way road there is in your quest for a cure. That’s it though. There is no patent cure. It’s that simple and that complicated. YOU are the cure.

This concept sounds too easy to be true. Not only can you learn to accept tinnitus as a part of your life but YOU can teach IT to be a part of YOUR life. You can take control by reducing its importance.

Tinnitus can be tamed and manipulated. Tinnitus has incredible power, if you give it authority. Think about what it has achieved by taking over your life. Why not turn the tables and learn from it. Get yourself in the driver’s seat and take it for a ride.

Mark Goeder-Tarant lived under the spell of Tinnitus for almost 6 years before realizing that only HE held the key to success. He is now dedicated to supporting and helping other Tinnitus victims. http://www.tinnitus-online.com

Consumer Credit Counseling: Getting Out of Debt

Getting Out of Debt by David Lorenson

If your monthly debt payments, excluding mortgage or rent, exceed 20% of your income, your debts are a serious problem requiring action. Here are some basic alternatives for getting out of debt:

Credit Counseling The Do It Yourself Approach Debt Management Program Debt Consolidation Bankruptcy Debt Elimination ProgramCredit Counseling After conducting your financial analysis and budget, your counselor might suggest that the do it yourself approach, which will include completing self-help educational programs on budgeting, money management, and credit. By going it alone, you may be negotiating with your creditors, paying off debts with the highest interest rates first, obtaining a second job and cutting up your credit cards. While this way is certainly very effective, it is important to note that this requires self-confidence and self-discipline to follow this approach and follow through to completion.

When negotiating with creditors, you will find that some are willing to negotiate lower payments or interest rates, or waive late charges and other fees, because they realize that it’s better to receive some of the money owed than none of it. But you will have to ask yourself if you have the ability and temperament to conduct difficult, time consuming negotiations alone.

Debt Consolidation In a typical debt consolidation, you consolidate your existing debts and mortgage payment into one, larger mortgage payment, sometimes at a lower interest rate. You take out a loan, often using your home as collateral, the lender sends you a check and you pay off your creditors. But don’t fall behind–you could lose your home! People who chose debt consolidation are very likely to end up in 5-7 years again with high credit card balances with high interest rates.

If you have a habit of buying on credit and carrying large balances on your credit cards, debt consolidation won’t fix your underlying spending problem. Also, you remain solely responsible for paying your own bills and negotiating with creditors.

Bankruptcy Filing for bankruptcy should only be considered as an absolute last resort. Bankruptcy is a court action that stops lawsuits and any other attempts by creditors or collection agencies to collect from you. However, it comes with a high cost–it generally stays on your credit report for a full 10 years, causing extreme difficulty in using credit to obtain cars, home or other loans and can even restrict you from certain types of employment. Bankruptcy should never be thought of as a “quick” or “free” way to get out of debt, as it can completely destroy your credit worthiness for a very long time.

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy discharges virtually all of your consumer debts but does not eliminate secured debt, so you could still lose your home if you fall behind in your mortgage payments. You also will be required to pay such debts as student loans, alimony, child support, income taxes, and legal fines.

Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is used in special situations, primarily to allow the filer to keep his/her home. A court-appointed trustee oversees a strict repayment plan to pay off your debts during a period of three to five years.

Although bankruptcy may fix your short-term problems, because it stays on your credit report for so long it should only be used in extreme situations. Many people who file bankruptcy make the mistake of doing so without fully exploring their options, and never realize they have other, more viable choices that will allow them to preserve their credit standing.

As nearly every web host provides the option to purchase reseller accounts, the Internet has seen a significant increase in 3rd party hosting companies looking to develop a stable recurring income. With a market filled with competition you have probably asked yourself, “Should I become a reseller?”

Points to think about before deciding

Before taking the plunge and signing up for a reseller account maybe you should ponder these points:

Do I have the time to market my services? - To stand out among the many webhosts you will be required to market your services. Be prepared to spend time every day marketing your new hosting company or learning of various techniques to market your services.

Am I prepared to offer support to my clients? - To effectively support your clients when they have a question about web hosting or if something is not working you should either have experience with web hosting or the company that is providing reseller services should provide this support. For instance 561Hosting provides free support to resellers thus eliminating the need to be an expert to provide services to your customers.

Am I in this for the long haul? - As you advertise your services and become more visible to the Internet community you will no doubt start to land customers. Be sure that you are committed to providing these services indefinitely because your customers have put their trust in you and are counting on you to be around.

                                                                    Is it worth it?

Selling hosting services can be a very rewarding business that you can run from the comfort of your home. Please be patient and market your services everyday and before long you will have several clients and may consider upgrading to a dedicated server account. But that’s another article…

What Does Your Business Need By: Petr Sejba There is nothing more frustrating as a webmaster then waking up in the morning, firing up your browser to check your website only to find a message saying “This site has exceeded it’s bandwidth limits for the month”

It’s embarrassing, time consuming and not to mention costly if you are missing out on sales.

On the other side of the scale, it can be very costly to be on a larger web hosting plan or dedicated server and hardly even use the services it offers.

Good quality web hosting is not cheap, but you need to balance your business needs with what you can really afford to pay.

So what web hosting service should you be using? Good question!

In this article I’m going to be talking about the pro’s and con’s of both shared web hosting and dedicated web hosting packages. By the end of the article you should have some idea what your online business needs now and what it will need when it expands.

                                                                          Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is what most small online businesses use. Shared hosting means that your site is on one server that also holds other peoples websites as well. Your website will not be the only one on that server. Very few small online businesses need the power of a dedicated server.

Most companies offer a few different types of shared web hosting services. The only difference usually being how much disk space you want or how much transfer allowance you need.

The best way to show you what the difference is between shared hosting services is to show you an example.

                                                                          Go to http://www.marblehost.com/hosting-plans.php

This is an example web hosting companies shared hosting services. As you can see they offer two different types of shared hosting services. Basically they offer a small and large service.

The major differences between each package really is how many domain names you can host, how much transfer (how many megabytes that are downloading from your website) you can have and how much disk space (how many files you can store) you need.

If you’re just starting out online and haven’t got a website up yet and not sure what you are doing exactly, start off with the small plan. That’s more then enough for a small site or blog for that matter.

Now if you run a larger website and you offer a lot of downloads, say for example you’re selling a rather large ebook, you might need the large service. Let’s say you have a 10mb ebook for sale, the large service this company offers would allow you to have roughly 2000 downloads of that package before you ran out of bandwidth (transfer).

                                                                          Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting is for the big boys. It’s for medium to big business looking to do a lot of work online. A dedicated server is just that, you’re own server. You get your own server just for your website which is unlike shared hosting as you have to share a server.

There are many different packages available with dedicated hosting depending on how much you want to spend. The more resources a server has, IE, RAM, Hard drive space, processor speed, the more it will cost.

You can see that a dedicated server allows you a lot more disk space and transfer allowance. It also allows you unlimited domain names. Dedicated servers are also known to be a lot more stable and allow you more control over your website and are perfect for a professional image.

There are two types of dedicated servers….

                                                                          Managed hosting

Managed hosting offers you the support of a technical team looking after your server. They do all the updates and technical side of things for you. They will perform routine maintenance without you even asking. Managed hosting how ever does cost quite a lot more then un-managed usually.

                                                                          Un-managed hosting

Un-managed hosting isn’t as support less as it sounds. Most dedicated servers do come with technical assistance and routine maintenance, but any support questions will more then likely cost you extra. If you need something added to your server, it will cost you a in maintenance fee’s. Rebooting your server should also come free with un-managed dedicated hosting.

                                                                          Multiple Domain Name Hosting

Another thing you should look at is whether or not you want to host multiple domain names with your one hosting package. Both shared hosting and dedicated hosting can allow you to do this. A lot of share hosting services now allow this.

I recommend always using a web host that allows you to have multiple domain names with your one account. It really does solve the problem of having multiple hosting accounts for different domain names.

                                                                          Other Things To Look For

Other things to think about when searching for a web hosting company is what you intend to do with your website.

Do you need a lot of technical assistance? If so, look for a hosting company with live 24/7 support. Do you want to create a blog, or lot’s of blogs? Then you will need to see if your web hosting company allows you to setup multiple MYSQL databases.

Early on my online business career, I was a jack-of-all-trades. I was the webmaster The telemarketer The banker The accountant The copywriter The traffic specialist The butcher The baker The candlestick maker And on and on it went If it needed to get done, I had to do it, as I was a Solo-Preneur, a one man money making machine. Then I learned how other successful people were saving time, making more money and having more fun than I was. The secret to their ‘leveraged’ lives was outsourcing. They had webmasters, copywriters, sales staff, virtual assistants, secretaries, and so on. Instead of working so hard IN their businesses, they were now ON their business, freed up to dream up and implement new product ideas and create new revenue streams. In my online experience, I have found 6 killer outsourcing techniques that have saved me time and help me make a lot of money. I would like to share them with you in hopes that you will benefit from them like I have. 1. Outsource Secret #1 – Use 24 Hour Recorded Message Lines Do you have a lot of people calling you, asking you the same questions over and over, that a website explains? What if people cannot get online? I create 24 hr recorded message lines where people can dial in, even if it’s 2:43 am and they can get educated robotically and elegantly about my company, offers or specials. Real Estate Agents can use this for updated home listings and showings, put the 24 hour message on the back of a business card, with a shocking headline, so people will call it. Mine reads: “Discover how a 35 year old former youth pastor from Minnesota earned over $700,000 in less than two years, and how he goes on vacations saving up to 75% off without coming home broke! Free 24 hr rec. message - 866-486-7465.” Network Marketers also use 24 hour lines to talk about their company, product and compensation plans instead of having to do one on one presentations. 2. Outsource Secret #2 – Hire a Webmaster/Site Designer I used to make my own sites, and I had to figure it all out by trial and error, many hours of frustrations. Don’t you hate it when you get the site all finished, but there is one quirk that is keeping you from publishing it because you have an error in your code or shopping cart, which you cannot figure out how to fix? You can’t publish until it’s fixed and you begin to panic! I have been down that road too many times, and it kept me from launching my sites on time. When I learned this outsource secret the companies I used got my sites keyword optimized, submitted and found in the engines. The did the design work and coding, I just wrote the copy to be on the site. I have over 20 #1 listings now with certain keywords related to my niche market. 3. Outsource Secret #3: Hire a Virtual Assistant to Work for You This one is an amazing time saver. I used to answer all my own calls and now I delegate/outsource to a team of virtual assistants who handle all my phone work for me. They do customer support, give out information, and even help by doing a little over the phone selling for me too. At about $15-25 an hour, Virtual Assistants, don’t get paid by the hour, they get paid by the minute, as an independent contractor, so you don’t pay them taxes, employee benefits, or insurance/health care. What a money saver and time saver, and guess what? You are not ripping them off doing it this way as that is how the Virtual Assistant Niche markets itself to people like you so they can get business. 4. Outsource Secret #4: Use Outsourcing Network Sites & Communities Ever heard of the “lance.com” sites. Like elance, freelance, writerlance etc.? These website groups do a lot of busy work for you at great low prices which you arrive at through a reverse auction. You tell people your project, whether you need a script made, software made, or a program, and then someone will tell you how much they will do it for, and usually the lowest priced bidder will win, and build your project or service for you, and you keep the master rights, like you built it yourself. Many of the top internet marketing money makers outsource all their projects this way. 5. Outsource Secret #5: Hire a Customer Service Division Many solo-preneurs, or small business owners are swamped with customer support and answering questions which take them away from the important tasks like dreaming up new products and services. Why not outsource your customer support with companies like Kayako. Do a Google search for “outsource customer support” and you’ll get a ton of listings from great companies eager to serve you and act as an extension of your one man show and make you look like a fortune 500 company. With some minimal training, they can be answering support emails and building knowledge bases for you to answer your company’s frequently most asked questions. Outsource Secret #6: Create Your Own Affiliate Program The days of the one man salesman are over. Many people earn a living online who don’t have websites of their own. They are affiliates, and they are marketers who know how to penetrate niche markets with messages that get read, and create buyers for YOUR products. Affiliates bring buyers to your sites for you. Create a program where you pay affiliates 50% or whatever you think is fair and they will sell your product, advertise, and create sales for you. You will not need an advertising budget now. So, here are 6 simple outsourcing techniques that when followed, can most definitely save you time, save you frustration, and help you make more money with less effort. Delegate your business from the outhouse and work your way up to the penthouse.

The very foundation of outsourcing means getting someone to handle your work, a partner in business. Ideally the outsourcing consultant or company should have a similar vision as yours and solid work ethics.

Success in business would depend greatly on finding the right outsourcing company and for this you must:

                                                                                      • Determine clearly what your core business competencies are. Know your strengths and weaknesses.

                                                                                      • Clearly define your goals, future business plans.

                                                                                      • Create an outsourcing proposal that outlines your objectives as well as needs. State clearly the details of the project, expectations, timelines, as well as budgets.

                                                                                      • Do in depth research on outsourcing companies to find out which ones will satisfy your needs. Alternately one can hire a consultant to carry out the search.

                                                                                      • Search for an organization that can source many talents. Flexibility in operations is crucial.

                                                                                      • Interview at least 3-4 organizations. Check out their referrals and projects completed. Be sure to meet key personnel to gauge their competencies. And check out their technological expertise.

                                                                                      • Do a cost effectiveness study as also how the selected company will fulfill your needs. Whether their infrastructure and training will be in synchrony with yours. Systems must be compatible. The costing should address impact of increased flexibility, difference in productive and time management, which is the time taken to reach the market and its effect on competition.

                                                                                      • Study thoroughly the non-financial costs as well as advantages of outsourcing.

                                                                                      • Check with local chambers of commerce like the California chamber of commerce at www.calchamber.com or other associations that focus on human resource like the Sacramento Area Human Resources Association at www.sahra.org.

                                                                                      • Before making a final choice check whether the outsourcing company or vendor is trustworthy, find out what kind of security measures they use, check the company’s reputation in the market; determine in no uncertain terms whether they have the right qualifications.

                                                                                      • Seek answers to: are they an established and financially sound company; what is their customer service philosophy; what is their service record; who are their current clients; is their estimate transparent or are there any loop holes; are they limited or can they expand along with your growth; is there an implementation plan; what about disaster recovery mechanisms; can they deliver?

                                                                                      • Check whether communications will be smooth and trouble free and if there are any cultural differences between you and the vendor. If yes will you be able to bridge the difference.

The cornerstones of a good and ideal outsource is a company that will enhance your performance; partner you in growth by infusing talent and technology; will share your visions; and contribute positively.

Interview the companies. After you select one discuss in detail the contractual terms. Be sure to protect your own interests well. It takes trust, collaboration, communication, and chemistry to make an outsourcing successful.

Paul Wilson is a freelance writer for http://www.1888Discuss.com/outsourcing/, the premier REVENUE SHARING discussion forum for Outsourcing Forum including topics on general outsourcing, best outsourcing tips, HR outsourcing, sales outsourcing and more. The field of Human Behavior Organization emphasizes the importance of human resources in any business organization. Workflow refers to the operational portion of a work procedure. It has several aspects: how tasks are structured, who performs them, what their relative order is, how they are synchronized, how information flows to support the tasks and how tasks are being tracked.

In business, particularly, workflow is concerned with scheduling task executions, ensuring dependencies.

In traditional terms this means moving the paper, processing the order, issuing the invoice. It could also mean filling the order from the warehouse, assembling documents, parts, tools, and people to repair a complex system, or manufacturing the complex device.

In the last 15 years, tools that manage workflow have been developed. More than just procedural documents, workflow process is defined formally in a workflow computer system. The process is managed by a computer program that assigns the work, passes it on, and tracks its progress.

That’s why today, workflow also refers to the automation of a business process, in whole or part, during which documents, information or tasks are passed from one worker to another for action, according to a set of procedural rules.

Through the years, workflow software products, like other software technologies, have evolved greatly. Some workflow software have evolved to image management systems, document management systems, relational or object database systems, and electronic mail systems.

Software developers who have developed pure workflow offerings have invented terms and interfaces, while vendors who have evolved products from other technologies have often adapted terminology and interfaces.

Each approach offers a variety of strengths from which a user can choose. Adding a standard based approach allows a user to combine these strengths in one infrastructure.

Below are the benefits of workflow:

Workflow brings improved efficiency. Automation of many business processes results in the elimination of many unnecessary steps.

Workflow brings better process control. It improves management of business processes.

Workflow brings improved customer service which leads to greater predictability in levels of response to customers

                                                                                                Workflow brings flexibility.

Workflow brings business process improvement which leads to their streamlining and simplification

With a workflow management system, work doesn’t get misplaced or stalled, expediters are rarely required to recover from errors or mismanagement of the work.

With workflow, the managers can focus on staff and business issues, such as individual performance, optimal procedures, and special cases, rather than the routine assignment of tasks. The army of clerks is no longer required to deliver and track the work.

With workflow, the procedures are formally documented and followed exactly. It ensures that the work is performed in the way planned by management, meeting all business and regulatory requirements.

With workflow, the best person (or machine) is assigned to do each case, and the most important cases are assigned first.

With workflow there are usually two or more tasks performed concurrently which is far more practical than in a traditional, manual workflow.

Workflow ensures that the best person for the work is doing the job. This does not only mean that the business is conducted more effectively, but also costs are lowered and the service to the customers is generally better.

With workflow, work is equitably distributed and the workers are confident that they are always working on the right thing, users are happier. Therefore workflow is good for the company, good for the customers, and good for the users.

You can find carpenter ant nest it may prove to be difficult- by tapping along wall and listing for a hollow sound. A hollow sound will usually indicate that you’ve found the nest- and you can sometimes hear the sound of the ants scrambling when you disturb the nest,

You need to get rid of the nest. Colonies within the structure should be controlled by a direct application of a pesticide. Boric acid dust, bendiocarb (Ficam) 1% dust, cyfluthrin, cypermethrin, bifenthrin, propoxur (Baygon) 0.5% in aerosol spray containers all are registered materials. Nests in wall voids often can be accessed through plumbing or electrical wiring. Electrical plates can be removed and an insecticide applied into the wall void along the outside edge of the electrical box. Ants follow wiring and plumbing routes through the structure. If the colony is inaccessible for direct treatment, a 1/8 inch drill bit can be used to make small holes in the walls so an insecticide applicator wand can be inserted for application of the insecticide. Dust formulations are effective against all Hymenoptera because the dust adheres to the hairy surfaces of their bodies. As they clean themselves and feed other ants and larvae, the insecticide is spread throughout the colony. This formulation is effective as long as it does not become wet, so it is used primarily in wall voids.

drill small holes into the wall with a drill- about 1/8 across. Do this from OUTSIDE the house. Fill the holes with with boric acid. The ants should die off after touching the acid.

Prevent Carpenter Ants from Invading Your Home!
