EB Games Promo For Free Nintendo DS

This is a pretty good deal. I didn’t think our games were valuable enough- but we came out really well. You can trade in 5 games with Trade In value of 8.00 or more and get a new DS, No strings. They do not take Gameboy games or X-box games for this promo. They DO take Gamecube, X-Box 360, Nintendo DS, Playstation2 and Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

You are also supposed to have original game case and instructions. I did not have instructions for most of mine. Here’s what I traded in and the trade In value for the games. EB Games is SO cagey about values! here is a pretty good list of current EB Games Canada trade in values for games (for most platforms including gameboy, etc)

Mario Party 7 for Gamecube ( with mic) was 21.00

Final Fantasy 3 for Nintendo DS- $8.00

Fantastic Four- Return of the Silver Surfer for Playstation 3 ( I bought new for 19.99 ) $ 8.00

Spyro- The New Beginning Trade In - 8.00 ( bought new 14.99)

Cosmic Family for Wii - 8.00 ( I bought for 22.95)

This worked out well for us. I was surprised. Games no one of liked and we walked out with a brand new Nintendo DS.

Despite being ASSURED by Best buy staff that my Harmony 880 remote would work with new PS3- it doesn’t . I asked about it in store specifically because the PlayStation 3 is Blue tooth and remote is IR ( infrared).

There is a work around- you can get a PlayStation remote that uses Infrared signal with USB adapter that plugs into USB port of your PlayStation 3 - This will allow your harmony 880 remote to control your Playstation- particularly useful if you are watching Blu-Ray .

The remote is called Nyko PlayStation 3 Remote available at Amzon for 13.99. You just set up in Harmony remote - add the “Nyko Remote” as a device. You can find it listed setting up Harmony Remote under “Game Console/DVD” devices.

Note: I have tried this with a cheap Intec remote control made for Playstation 3 as well. It was 19.99 at Bestbuy. I found the best way to set up was to set it up as the same device as above. ( Nyko Blue Wave remote) and then have it learn commands. I then Re-Named device Blu-Ray and set up in Activities. If you try and add it as Intec remote with serial it starts a nightmare cycle you can’t get out of . Calling it Nyko and adjusting was a 15 minute job vs. an hour and it never really worked.
It worked perfectly.

I suspect any knock-off remote made for PS3 ( with USB IR dongle) will work the same way.

From the Nintendo Website- get a free Wii keychain from Nintendo when you fill out a short survey. If you are not registered all ready- go to My Ninendo and register your Big Brain Academy Wii game. You can take a 2 min survey about the game and Nintendo will send you the free Wii keychain in the mail.

We bought a Wii game console last week. It just comes with crappy composite ( rca ) cables. I was looking for component cables to buy online for the Wii- and lo and behold- found this nutty price!
